| DEFENDING CHAMPION WINS SECOND STRAIGHT MEN’S WAKEBOARD GOLD
Danny Harf takes home another gold, while Darin Shapiro repeats for silver Philadelphia, Penn. – Danny Harf repeats as gold medal champion before a crowd of 6,100 on Philadelphia’s Schuylkill River. Darin Shapiro, earned the silver medal with Shaun Murray taking home the bronze. Harf, of Orlando, Fla., started with a huge Whirlybird and followed with the KGB, off-axis 540 and a Ya-Ya. He went on to complete a 720 and toeside 900 double-up. Harf was excited and thrilled to win his second-ever X Games medal, both of which are gold. “I’ve watched the X Games since they started,” said Harf. “I’ve watched X all along and I never imagined being up here. Philly has been great to me, I love it here.” Coming in just two points behind Danny with a score of 68.00 was Shapiro, of Orlando, Fla. He started his run with a Batwing to blind landing and followed it up with a huge Vulcan with an off-axis 540 and much more. Shapiro captured the X Games silver in Philadelphia both years. “Danny always seems to pull it out at X Games,” said Shapiro. “I’m glad that I didn’t have any falls.” Bronze medallist, Murray landed a 720 with a 540 off the kicker and had a solid run. Murray said he wanted to put together a hard run, then he pushed himself a little too hard and came out with a fall. Despite his fall, Murray finished with a 63.33 final score. |
